What you need to know

Let Teladoc Health help you kick the habit — whether you smoke, chew tobacco or vape. Work with a health coach to get the resources, support and accountability you need to live tobacco-free and avoid a tobacco surcharge on your medical premiums.

Top tip

If you or a dependent currently uses tobacco or vaping products, you can participate in our tobacco cessation program. After completion of the program, you may be eligible for the discounted rate for the Simplot Medical Program. You may even be eligible to receive a refund on your non-discounted contributions.¹

¹Additional requirements apply. Eligibility to receive the contribution discount and refund applies only to the current calendar year. Your tobacco-free status must be re-declared annually.

How it works

When you enroll in Teladoc’s Tobacco Cessation program, you get:

Ongoing support from a tobacco cessation coach
24/7 helpline available to answer questions and provide helpful resources
Doctor-prescribed medications (like Chantix, Zyban and nicotine replacements) if right for you
Additional health content and support resources
Better health and personal satisfaction that comes with quitting for good

Get started

Attend the visit. Discuss your current tobacco habits with the doctor and ask to be enrolled in the program.

Create a Teladoc account. You can register via teladoc.com, the Teladoc Health app or by phone at 800-TELADOC. The registration code is SIMPLOT. Provide or update your medical history. Note that you are a tobacco user.

Enroll by contacting HR Solutions through a Global Support Portal request or by calling 208-780-7500. HR Solutions will respond to your request — and give you a one-time credit for a medical visit — in six to seven days.

Schedule a visit. After HR Solutions responds, request or schedule a general medical visit on demand as soon as possible to avoid the possibility of your credit being used for another appointment.

Health savings account

If you’re enrolled in the Simplot Medical Program, smoking cessation drugs are covered at 100 percent for up to two 90-day treatment regimens when dispensed pursuant to a written prescription. If you need more than two 90-day treatments and have a Health Savings Account (HSA), some smoking cessation products, such as gum or patches, may be considered an eligible expense.
